Basic Life Support For Healthcare Providers
This
course is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims
of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device,
bag-mask, and oxygen); use of an automated external defibrillator
(AED); and relief of a foreign-body airway obstruction (FBA0).
The BLS for Healthcare
Provider Course is intended for participants who provide
health care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including
physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, physician's
assistants, medical or nursing assistants, medical or nursing
students, police officers, firefighters, and other allied
health personnel.
CPR For Family And Friends
The CPR for Family
and friends course is a modular course that teaches rescuers
skills in CPR, and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction.
It presents information about the AHA
adult Chain of Survival, and signs of a heart attack, cardiac
arrest, stroke, and choking in adults. The course also presents
information on the AHA pediatric infant and child Chain
of Survival, signs of choking in infants and children, prevention
of sudden infant death syndrome, and prevention of the most
common fatal injuries in infants and children.
This course is ideal for
all lay rescuers such as school children, family members
of patients at risk for sudden cardiac death, and other
laypersons that want to learn rescue skills for loved ones.
Heartsaver AED
The Heartsaver AED
Course teaches the basic techniques of adult CPR and the
use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). Students
also learn about using barrier devices for use when performing
CPR, and giving first aid for choking. This course teaches
how to recognize the signs of 4 major emergencies: heart
attack, stroke, cardiac arrest, and foreign-body airway
obstruction.
This course is ideal
for lay responders such as firefighters, police officers,
airline personnel, security guards, employees
in the workplace, family members of patients at high risk
for sudden cardiac death, other lay rescuers, and those
who may need to respond to a cardiac emergency.
Heartsaver CPR
The Heartsaver CPR Course is a modular course
that teaches lay rescuers how to recognize and treat life-threatening
emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking for adults,
children, and infant victims. Students also learn to recognize
the warning signs of a heart attack and stroke in adults,
and breathing difficulties in children. This program is
divided into a choice of 3 different courses.
Heartsaver CPR for All Ages teaches CPR
and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction in the adult,
infant, and child.
Heartsaver
CPR for Adults teaches CPR and relief of foreign-body airway
obstruction in the adult.
Heartsaver CPR for Infants and Children
teaches CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction
for infants (birth to 1 year of age), and children (1 year
to 8 years of age).
This course is intended for all lay rescuers,
such as employees in the workplace, daycare employees, baby-sitters,
firefighters, police, airline personnel, security guards,
family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac
death, other lay rescuers, and those who may have a need
to respond to an emergency.
Heartsaver CPR In Schools
The
Heartsaver CPR in Schools Course is designed to teach both
adult and pediatric lay rescuer CPR to middle or high school
students.
The course presents information about the AHA adult and
infant/child Chain of Survival, and signs of a heart attack,
cardiac arrest, stroke, and choking in adults. This course
also covers signs of choking in infants and children, prevention
of sudden infant death syndrome, and prevention of the most
common fatal injuries in infants and children.
Heartsaver First Aid
The
Heartsaver First Aid Course provides the skills to effectively
assess and maintain life from the critical minutes immediately
following an emergency until the arrival of emergency medical
services personnel. The course also serves as a complete
health and safety training solution for First Aid, CPR and
AED.
This
Course is ideal for those assigned to respond to emergencies
in the workplace or community, as well as those who want
to learn First Aid, CPR and AED skills. Some rescuers are
required to take this course as part of their employer's
efforts to comply with OSHA regulations (i.e. corporate
employees, daycare and childcare workers, security guards,
airline personnel, lifeguards and other individuals who
want or need first aid training).
Automated
External Defibrillation
Having
personnel on-site that are trained in the use of Automated
External Defibrillators (AED) provides the victim with rapid
defibrillation access before EMS arrival, greatly increasing
the chance of survival. Training includes recognition of
unresponsive victims, review of equipment operation and
maintenance, discussion of treatment and valuable hands-on
practice to increase skills.
Basic First Aid
Properly applied, first aid can save lives,
reduce recovery time and quite possibly mean the difference
between temporary
disability and lifelong disability for the victim. Program
participants learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of
injuries and sudden illness. Crucial information about how
to deal with emergencies like shock, burns, strains, strokes
and seizures is shared.
This program was reviewed by and meets the guidelines of
the Occupational Safety & Health Administration and
the Department of Transportation. It has also been accepted
for training day care personnel and adult care staff in
all states.
Bloodborne Pathogens
This
program includes information that will help students understand
what bloodborne pathogens are and how risks of exposure
can be reduced for themselves and others. Participants are
introduced to precautionary practices that are recommended
by organizations such as the Occupational Safety and Health
Administration and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Childcare & Babysitting
The
Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program is a community
education program that covers child safety and basic care
techniques for infants and children. This course was developed
with a number of other national organizations, including
the American Academy of Pediatrics.
CPR for the Community & Workplace
Students master the skills necessary for
the administration of
CPR. They learn how to recognize a life-threatening emergency,
how to provide basic life support and what to do in the
case of an airway obstruction or choking. This course is
based upon the most recent guidelines for cardiopulmonary
resuscitation and emergency cardiac care.
CPR PRO for the Professional Rescuer
The goal of CPR PRO is to provide individuals
with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide
effective basic
life support in an emergency.
The CPR PRO curriculum has been approved for training of
Emergency Medical Services personnel in most states, is
accredited by the Continuing Education Coordinating Board
for Emergency Medical Services, and is accepted by the National
Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
Additionally, CPR PRO has been found acceptable for meeting
requirements established by a wide variety of professional
associations, councils, academies, and boards. The curriculum
is consistent with widely accepted guidelines for professional
level cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Emergency Oxygen Administration
Serious
and life-threatening medical emergencies often cause oxygen
to be depleted in the body leaving the victim at risk for
cardiac arrest or brain damage.
Supplemental oxygen is a critical step in treating a severe
or life-threatening illness or injury. This class focuses
on administering emergency oxygen, rescue breathing, and
oxygen delivery devices.
Forklift Training
The Forklift Safety Program is designed
to help qualified persons ensure that
training provided to industrial truck operators contains
the appropriate information. This is an easy-to-understand
program intended to increase productivity, eliminate damage
and injuries, and meet the Occupational Safety and Health
Administration's latest requirements.
Hazard Communication
Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) provides employers
with assistance in complying with the Occupational Safety
and Health Administration's Hazard Communication Standard
and state Right-to-Know
laws. It also provides employees with information for handling
chemicals safely.
Pet First Aid
The Pet First Aid Training Program provides
information on caring for dogs and cats, as well as guidance
about when pets should be taken to the veterinarian for
professional care.
This course was reviewed by an American Society for the
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) panel of nationally
renowned veterinarians, veterinary toxicologists, animal
behaviorists and animal science specialists, and received
the ASPCA Seal of Approval.
